Sagar Dhole Patil is a philanthropist and educationist based in Pune, India. Rising from humble beginnings of working in the gotha (cattle shed) in his family Dairy, he also grew the family business of hospitality and in 2006, forayed into education. Starting with an MBA course that was run in the enclosed parking lot of a hotel, his vision of DPES or Dhole Patil Education Society, now has multiple educational institutions in Kharadi, Pune. 

Sagar believes that no student be turned away if they are suitable, not necessarily financially able or from an upmarket background. He has supported myriad students with scholarships and even free education.

Dhole Patil Education Society Trust

Mr. and Mrs. Sagar Dhole Patil have always wanted to create something that society can benefit from. With many attempts to try different businesses and models, Mr Sagar realized that his true ambition was to help people around him, and to create a legacy that he could leave behind. Money has never been a motivator for him, and with a genuine desire to help people help themselves, he started a MBA course in Hotel Kapila’s parking basement in 2005.

Even though Mr. Sagar had no prior experience in the field of education, with the help of his dear family and friends, he was able to find the right connections to start the MBA classes. After a few rocky months, he was able to start the first batch of the MBA course which was an autonomous, certified two year course. With an intake of 24 students in the first batch itself, Dhole Patil Education Society was born. In 2008, DPES was approved by AICTE and University of Pune; now known as Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU). 

After that, there was virtually no looking back. The Engineering College was founded next and the campus moved to a 15 acre plot in Kharadi. 

The DPES family today offers Engineering, Physiotherapy and Junior Colleges besides Pre-school to 12th Standard CBSE education.
